Description Kia ProCeed

Kia ProCeed (CD) is a five-door shooting-break station wagon with a low roof and a coupe-like silhouette. The world premiere of ProSid took place in October 2018 at the Paris Motor Show. The new model replaced the hatchback pro_cee'd (JD) second generation.

ProCeed is lower and longer than a five-door hatchback Ceed, and station wagon Ceed Sportswagon. The car is available in GT Line and GT versions. It owes its design to the Kia Proceed Concept 2017 showcar, repeating the silhouette with a lowered roof, a non-standard rear design for the Ceed family, a glazing line and a front bumper design.

At 4605mm, 5mm longer than the Ceed Sportswagon, the ProCeed's front overhang is also longer at 885mm. With a height of 1422mm, its roof is 43mm lower than the Sportswagon's roof and its ground clearance has been reduced by 5mm to 135mm. Built on the same K2 platform as other Ceed models, the ProCeed shooter has a similar 2650mm wheelbase.

Salon Kia ProCeed is similar to other Ceed models of this generation. So, the center console is turned towards the driver, and the display of the multimedia system is located above all the electronics and climate controls. However, the usual gray upholstery of the Ceed and Sportswagon has given way to black fabric, the seat trim and the upper part of the dashboard have contrasting stitching, and the door sills are decorated with metal lining. Already in the basic version, ProCeed is equipped with a D-shaped steering wheel, and in models with a dual-clutch gearbox, metal paddles are additionally installed.

Trunk volume Kia ProCeed - 594 liters. This is twice as much as the Ceed 5-door hatchback. The rear seats fold in a 40:20:40 ratio. When the seats are folded down, the luggage compartment floor becomes level. The optional Smart Power Tailgate system automatically opens the tailgate using a smart key. The luggage compartment has a mesh for attaching small items, as well as a luggage locking system.

There are three engines in the range of the model: petrol "turbo" 1.0 T-GDI (120 hp, 172 Nm) and "turbo" 1.4 T-GDI (140 hp, 242 Nm), as well as "turbo diesel" 1.6 CRDI (136 hp and 280 Nm or 320 Nm). All of them are combined with a six-speed “mechanics”, and a seven-speed “robot” with dual clutch is offered only with the two most powerful units. The "hot" modification of the GT is equipped with a 1.6-liter T-GDi engine with a capacity of 204 hp. and a torque of 265 Nm.

Despite the same suspension system as the Ceed/Ceed Sportswagon (McPherson front and multi-link rear), the ProCeed has been individually tuned for a more dynamic ride. The car is equipped with electric power steering and requires only 2.44 turns to turn from lock to lock.

Serial production of the Kia ProCeed station wagon is organized at the Kia Motors Slovakia plant, which is located in the city of Zilina. The model got on the conveyor in November 2018.
