The fourth generation of Kia Sportage received a modern design, a more spacious interior, excellent safety, dynamics and comfort. The Sportage already comes standard with a range of options previously only available in premium cars, and its appearance has been recognized with one of the most prestigious design awards, the iF Design Award.
In Ukraine, the new Sportage is available in 12 body colors (5 of which are new) and with several trim options. The set of power units includes two diesel engines with a volume of 1.7 liters (115 hp) and 2.0 liters (185 hp), as well as two gasoline engines - 1.6 liters (132 hp) and 2.0 l (155 hp).
Kia Sportage has become longer by 40 mm, its wheelbase has grown by 30 mm, and the boot volume has increased by 48 liters. It also received an extremely rigid body (the use of high-strength steels increased from 18 to 51%), a number of modern active and passive safety features, improved visibility and significantly reduced noise and vibration levels. The high reliability of the fourth generation Kia Sportage was also confirmed by authoritative Euro NCAP tests, according to which the new car received the maximum safety rating - 5 stars.
The new Kia Sportage is available in four trim levels: Comfort, Business, Prestige and the GT Line sports version. Already in the Comfort configuration, the car has: 6 airbags; ABS systems (anti-lock braking system), ESC (electronic motion stabilization system), VSM (dynamic stabilization system while driving); DBC / HAC systems (assistance when driving uphill / downhill); disc brakes 4 wheels; active head restraints front and rear seats; Cruise control; automatic high beam headlights; telescopic adjustment of the steering wheel horizontally and vertically; shock absorbers with double damping; additional light signal for emergency braking; front fog lights and rear fog lights; 16-inch alloy wheels; tire pressure monitoring, electrically adjustable folding rear-view mirrors, other useful features. Particularly relevant in our climate will be the “Warm Options” package, which includes heated front and rear seats, a steering wheel and a windscreen wiper zone.
In the Comfort package, the new Kia Sportage is available with front-wheel drive and a 1.6-litre petrol engine, a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 1.7-litre diesel engine. The two-liter engine will work together with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the other two - with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Business package will offer drivers the benefits of all-wheel drive and a choice of two powerful powertrains: an efficient 2-liter diesel engine and a 2-liter gasoline engine, which will be aggregated with a 6-speed “automatic”. Other highlights of this configuration: ATCC system (adjustable suspension for all-wheel drive), rain sensor, rear parking sensors, lateral support for the driver's seat, combined interior trim (leather-fabric), dual-zone climate control with "Auto Defog", mode selection engine and transmission (Drive Mode Select), xenon headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, infotainment system with a 5-inch color display, rear view camera with prompts, etc.
The following options will be added to the specifications of the Business package in the Prestige package: leather trim, blind spot monitoring system, front parking sensors, power seat adjustment for driver and front passenger, intelligent automatic tailgate opening system, "Supervision" instrument panel with screen 4.2 inches, front seat ventilation, LED rear lights, xenon adaptive headlamps, gloss black grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, navigation system with 7-inch display, etc.
The GT Line package is available to buyers of the Sportage model for the first time. Such cars are equipped with all-wheel drive, they have a more sporty design and improved dynamic performance. Their main exterior features are square-shaped LED fog lamps similar to those used in the high-speed cee'd GT model, a double muffler, 19-inch alloy wheels with original design and silver-colored skid plates. Inside, the Sportage GT Line features a leather-wrapped D-shaped steering wheel, high-gloss black trim, chrome door handles and aluminum alloy pedal plates. Comfort for the driver and passengers will be provided by a large panoramic roof, LED lighting in a two-tone leather interior, a modern navigation system with an 8-inch screen, a powerful 320-watt JBL Sound system with eight speakers, an amplifier and Clari-Fi music renewal technology. Also in this configuration, for the first time in the segment of compact crossovers, wireless charging for mobile devices will be available.
The Sportage GT Line features custom suspension setups and Rack and Pinion Power Steering (R-MDPS), making it one of the most agile crossovers in its class. In Ukraine, the Sportage GT Line will be delivered with a significantly improved 2-liter turbocharged R diesel engine and a reliable 2-liter NU-series gasoline engine, which are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Kia Sportage is produced at the Kia Motors Corporation plant in Zilina (Slovakia).
