In the spring of 2013, at the New York Auto Show, the company introduced a restyled version of the sedan. The European modification debuted in the autumn of the same year. External changes are only cosmetic in nature - the design of the bumpers has changed a bit, and the main difference between the updated model and its predecessor is the four-section LED inserts spaced along the sides of the front bumper.
Minor changes have also taken place inside the Optima. The steering wheel has become three-spoke, the shape of the seats has slightly changed. In addition, improved displays are now available for both the center console and the dashboard. In the list of available active safety systems appeared blind spot monitoring system. KIA specialists have also improved the soundproofing of the car.
The list of engines offered on the market consists of three units - gasoline engines with a volume of 2 (available with both "mechanics" and "automatic") and 2.4 (aggregated exclusively by automatic transmission) liters, as well as a 1.7 turbodiesel (offered only with manual box) liters.
Serial production of KIA Optima is established in South Korea. Where the model is called K5.
