KIA Carens (2006) - a mid-size family car with a length of just over 4.5 meters. In the initial trim levels it is a five-seater, in the top version it additionally receives a third row of seats and becomes a seven-seater.

The history of the model began in 1999, when the first generation of KIA Carens debuted. In Ukraine, the third generation of the car is now being offered, the premiere of which took place in 2006. The platform of the car was the already discontinued KIA Magentis D-class sedan, which was replaced by a new KIA Optima.

In 2012, the company introduced the next generation of KIA Carens, which has already become the fourth generation of the model. Therefore, in the near future, the third generation of KIA Carens available on the Ukrainian market will give way to a newcomer.

So far, both petrol and diesel modifications of the car are offered. In the first case, under the hood of KIA Carens there is an atmospheric “four” with a volume of 2 liters and a power of 145 hp, which can be paired with a five-speed manual or a four-band automatic.

In the second case, KIA Carens is aggregated with a 2-liter engine developing 145 hp. and 305 Nm of torque. This motor is offered only with a six-speed “mechanics”.

The main competitors of KIA Carens are Chevrolet Orlando, Ford Grand C-MAX, Mazda5, Opel Zafira B And Zafira Tourer, Seat Altea XL, Toyota Verso, Volkswagen Touran.

The ground clearance of KIA Carens is 156 mm. The third generation was produced at the company's plant in South Korea.
